The Hot Girl Walk 2.0

The movement that changed the way women think about fitness just got a spring upgrade and the podcast lineup is everything.

Created by Mia Lind in 2020, the Hot Girl Walk is deceptively simple: walk four miles outdoors while focusing on three things — your goals, what you're grateful for, and how confident you feel. No gym, no equipment, no pressure to hit a certain pace. Just you, your thoughts, and the open road.

What started as a TikTok moment has become a legitimate wellness practice endorsed by therapists and exercise scientists alike.

Despite the name, the event is not about meeting a certain beauty standard — it's about being thankful, determined, and self-assured. As one Chicago participant put it: "Being a hot girl is not always about a look or a certain type of attitude. It's just being the best you can be."

And now that spring is here, it's time to take your Hot Girl Walk to the next level.

Why Spring Is THE Season for Your Walk

Nature exposure reduces cortisol levels and improves mood. Sunlight, fresh air, a break from screens and movement together create a natural reset button for your nervous system.

Strava's Year in Sport Trend Report also saw walking as the second most popular sport of 2025, just behind running when it comes to the total number of users recorded. And in spring 2026, women are showing up, literally.

Just this past weekend, about 100 women gathered at Ping Tom Memorial Park in Chicago for a Hot Girl Walk, women of all ages joining from neighboring states like Indiana and Michigan. Following a group chant — "Gratitude! Goals! Confidence!" — they traversed a two-mile loop around the park. The movement is very much alive.

Hot Girl Walk 2.0: Level Up Your Routine

The original format is perfect, but spring calls for a few upgrades:

Try Japanese Walking Intervals

Japanese walking alternates between three minutes of fast walking at 70% of your max heart rate and three minutes of slow walking at 40% for 30 minutes total. Researchers found that the interval walking group had increased muscle strength, better aerobic capacity and a significant drop in blood pressure compared to steady-pace walkers. It's a seamless upgrade to your usual HGW.

Add Walking Yoga

Walking yoga incorporates principles from yoga into walking, including breath-synced movement, to improve cardiovascular health, muscle strength and flexibility — all while reducing stress and anxiety.

Upgrade Your Audio
